Welcome to my website. My goal is to empower you with essential information about cosmetic Plastic Surgery, as it represents a broad cross section of the Plastic Surgery procedures available to you. This is an extension of one of my practice philosophies; "Knowledge is Power." I feel very strongly that if you are educated about your choices, you will be more likely to make the right ones.
I am board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) that certifies physicians to perform cosmetic procedures of the head and neck, trunk, and extremities. I have also sought additional fellowship training specifically in cosmetic surgery of the face and neck, breasts, and body. You can feel at ease in the fact that I am appropriately trained to perform your procedure.
My private office is conveniently located near the medical center, which allows patients to have a very discreet and personalized experience. If your procedure requires surgery, our facility contains a private surgery center that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
I understand that my patients have personal reasons for undergoing cosmetic surgery; therefore, I strive to provide state-of-the-art techniques framed with the comfort of a doctor-patient relationship reminiscent of days gone by. The techniques that I use are proven effective, and most importantly, safe.
During your consultation, computerized video imaging can be used to show what your post-surgical results may be. You will also have an opportunity to see before and after photographs of my patients.
I hope that you find our site informative, and invite you to contact me regarding any questions that you may have.
Thank you for considering my practice,
Brice W. McKane, M.D., F.A.C.S
About the DoctorBrice W. McKane, M.D., F.A.C.S was one of the top-ranked graduates of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He received his medical degree in 1998, and then trained in general surgery at the esteemed Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine. During his training, he served as a research fellow for the Department of Surgery and published several articles in peer reviewed journals. Dr. McKane then completed his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. McKane first became interested in Plastic Surgery after experiencing what it is to be a patient with reconstructive needs. While hiking in Big Bend National Park he was involved in a severe accident and sustained multiple facial fractures. Dr. McKane underwent a reconstructive procedure that restored his face, which was a life-changing event for him. This experience taught him valuable lessons about what it is to be a patient; Dr. McKane carries these lessons with him into the care of his own patients.
A Houston-based board certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. McKane performs a variety of facial plastic surgical procedures, which include facelifts (rhytidectomy), upper and lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), brow lifts, mini-facelifts, mid-face lifts, ear contouring surgery (otoplasty), nose surgery (rhinoplasty), lip augmentation, chemical peel, facial resurfacing, fat grafting, injectable fillers and Botox. Dr. McKane also performs a variety of breast and body contouring procedures, such as breast augmentation, breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty), breast lifts (mastopexy), liposuction, mini tummy-tucks, tummy tucks (abdominoplasty), thigh lifts, buttock lifts, arm lifts (brachioplasty). For patients who have undergone massive weight loss following bariatric surgery, Dr. McKane performs circumferential contouring using a total body lift (belt lipectomy).
“I speak from personal experience when I say that Plastic Surgery has great power to enhance your image. Being a Plastic Surgery patient has forever changed my life for the better. It has given me great insight into the needs of my own patients. While the technical aspects of a case and the achieved results are important, they are not the whole package. I understand that patients have emotional needs. I, myself, have learned through my experiences that you will need – and deserve – personalized attention, compassion, support, guidance, and utmost care. I strive to provide you with these necessities.”
“Unlike many offices where you won’t meet your surgeon until after you’ve committed to surgery, I will meet you during your initial consultation. I understand that time with your surgeon will be an enormous factor contributing to your satisfaction with your surgical experience. I will provide you with my undivided attention and spend as much time with you as you need so that your goals will be heard. Together, we will formulate an appropriate plan that addresses your concerns.”
“Helping you achieve your goals is very important to me, and I am dedicated to helping this happen and making your experience as satisfying as I can. I hold myself to the highest standards and am uncompromising in this regard. My commitment to you extends beyond the postoperative period, and I remain available to all of my patients at any time into the future. My patients appreciate this and have rated me Houston’s “Cosmetic Surgeon of the Year” at thelocalnewspaper.com
“Education will be paramount for you. When I underwent my Plastic Surgery procedure I was not adequately informed. Due to this, I have made it a priority to provide you with as much information about the procedure that you are considering as I can. I will not trivialize your surgery, and I want you to be well-informed. In becoming educated about your options, I feel that you can make the best decision for yourself.”
“I understand that surgical techniques are constantly evolving and require continued study and refinement. I am constantly learning and purposefully seek to attend meetings and lectures to further my knowledge about the state-of-the-art Plastic Surgery. I believe that the techniques I employ give me considerable capacity to alter features that you may see as imperfect in a safe and proven manner. It is possible to create profound effects on self-confidence and personal well-being by improving imperfections that are congenital, age-related, traumatic, or due to poor lifestyle choices.”
“Safety is my foremost concern. I am unwilling to perform procedures that I feel are in anyway unsafe. Your procedure will be conducted in a fully accredited center or in the hospital if you prefer. I am meticulous by nature and will approach you not only from the surgical perspective, but from a whole patient perspective to ensure that your medical and emotional needs are fulfilled.”
“Privacy is critical in my practice. I take pride in my staff who have been trained in discretion and confidentiality. Our office is in a private facility, close to, but not in the hustle and bustle of the medical center. This affords our patients the luxury of a comfortable, exclusive experience, where they will not have to worry about seeing familiar faces and exposing their surgery.”
